Pleasants Construction Becomes Newest Janssen Process Licensee.

Under a license agreement just signed with Pipeline Renewal Technologies, Clarksburg, MD-based Pleasants Construction Inc. will now perform Janssen Process structural lateral connection renovation and mainline point repair throughout Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Janssen Process is the only technology that structurally reestablishes and seals the connection between lateral and mainline by robotically filling voids in pipe bedding with pressure-injected resin. Janssen Process can also be used to perform mainline point repair without affecting inside diameter. Pipeline Renewal Technologies is the exclusive sales and support channel for Janssen Process in North America.

Pleasants Construction is the second Janssen Process licensee in North America. The first licensee, Orleans, IN-based Reynolds-Inliner, signed on with the Janssen Process in 2008, and has since been servicing thousands of lateral applications in the Baltimore/Washington metro area.

"We looked at all the technologies available for lateral renovation," said Don Pleasants, President of Pleasants Construction. "In the end, we simply chose what our customers would want—the longest service life, fewest failures, and least disruption."

"We're very excited that another of the rehab industry's leading contractors has come on board with Janssen Process," said Richard Lindner, President of Pipeline Renewal Technologies. "The most successful contractors are in the best position to recognize what Janssen Process offers in terms of true structural repair. And with their strong presence in the mid-Atlantic states, Pleasants is a perfect fit for the regional development strategy we’re pursuing."

With the licensee agreement signed, both parties can begin training and preparing for the August delivery of Pleasants Construction’s new Janssen Process truck.
